TENT SAUNA
& other activities

TRY OUT OUR TENT SAUNA

Inspired by Japanese bathhouses, our tent sauna has a wooden floor and natural rocks. Depending on the way the sauna is heated, it gives you smooth steam or intense heat. You can refresh by swimming in the lake.

For washing up it is possible to heat hot water on top of the stove. We provide firewood, ecological soap and shampoo.

The tent sauna can be used by all our overnighters. It fits 2-3 adults at a time. There is an outdoor changing room next to it.

Price: € 40 / 2 hours

We have also traditional Finnish sauna available. It fits 4-5 adults. It is a log cabin with showers, changing room and a terrace.

Price: € 90 / 2 hours, extra hours á € 40

what to expect at virento hideaway

Glamping comes from combining glamour and camping. In our case that means a bit more comfort - glamour not so much. Virento Hideaway Campsite offers experiental lakeside accomodation. The tent area is off-grid. What we find luxury is

  • clean lake and forest with original ridges

  • privacy - tents located far away from each other

  • good mattresses and wrinkle-free bed linen in a tent

  • wood heated sauna combined with open-water swimming

  • an outhouse with a view

  • chain of lakes for longer journeys on water

  • fishing possibility

  • availability of electricity at the log sauna cabin and at the well

  • location just 75 min drive away from Helsinki city center or from the international Helsinki-Vantaa airport

What to do in the forest besides having sauna, eating and sleeping?

Enjoy time alone or together with your dearest. Relax in a hammock with a new book, take a walk in the forest and pick some berries, heat up the tent sauna and take a swim in the lake, prepare a meal on the open fire, cut some more firewood, go rowing a boat, paddle on a SUP-board or just stay still. There are many ways to enjoy the Finnish forest, clean air and fresh water lake.

Activities for families with young children

Children don't need toys in the forest. The are creative inventors who come up with all kinds of activities for themselves. Once they run out of ideas, you can take them fishing, rowing a boat or visiting a nearby historic farm - tips for day trips here below. Be prepared with rainproof outdoor gear if necessary - or spend a rainy day playing board games in the tent.

IDEAS FOR DAY TRIPS NEARBY

Myllymäen torppa - open air museum

An authentic small farm complex from the 19th century maintained by the National Board of Antiquities. During the summer, there are sheep in its yard, so keeping the gate closed is very important! There is no one there, you can visit there on your own. About 4 km from Virento Hideaway.

Lake Ruostejärvi
Excellent sandy beach for a swimming trip. There is also Eerikkilä Sports College on the shores of Lake Ruostejärvi.

Liesjärvi Nationalpark

Especially great places to visit are Kyynäränharju – narrow piece of land between two lakes - and Korteniemi, a traditional farm with domestic animals in summer. Canoes can be rented for a day trip.

Torronsuo Nationalpark

Beautiful swamps, wood covered paths and a bird tower.

Lake Iso-Melkutin
A clear water lake in Räyskälä. A good swimming place, you can even go snorkeling. For forest walking: about 7 km route around the lake, including a couple of campfire places.

Hiidenlinna and Sisumetsä Adventurepark
Small adventure park for all ages. Bouncy castles, farm animals and a look out statue, and climbing tracks on the trees.
